Modern lighting has continued to move the modern design movement into the 21st century, yet its foundations remain firmly within the late 19th to early 20th century, when names like British industrial designer Tom Dixon began to incorporate the elements of modernism into lighting.   Today, modern lighting includes beautiful pieces by manufacturers such as Flos , Artemide and Louis Poulsen

The Tom Dixon Base Floor Lamp is recognized for its use of textured cast iron.  It's one of the few lamp base collections also available as a table or wall light.  If you're interested in a wall or shade lamps, Artemide's best-selling Tolomeo collection features several pieces by Italian designer Michele De Lucchi.  The Chilone 90 Outdoor Lamp is one of the most minimalist pieces in our collection, also manufactured by Artemide and designed by Ernest Gismondi.  The elegant Flos Arco Floor Lamp by Achille Castiglionihas firmly taken its place as a design classic and has remained in production since the 1960s.  One of its unique features is that every single one of its parts has a particular function.
