The Italian design firm Mattiazzi is known for its “healthy obsession” with woodworking and craftsmanship. Designer Nitzan Cohen is known for always starting with questions. In this case, should the chair he was designing be outspoken or a little more timid? He decided to design both—He Said and She Said. The He Said armrests assert themselves, while the She Said armrests curve gently downward. The top half of the chair is a tribute to Mattiazzi’s sophisticated technology: The backrest, armrests, and legs display a smooth geometry usually seen in plastic chairs. What a nice surprise to see it in solid wood!
