Paul Mccobb Magazine Holder

*****SHIPS IN 8-12 WEEKS*****

Design Paul McCobb, 1950
Powder-coated steel, textile
Made by Fritz Hansen

A lesson in geometry, the perfectly symmetrical silhouette of Fritz Hansen's new Magazine Holder explores the relationship between form and function. A relaunched design from the 1950s by Paul McCobb, Fritz Hansen's Magazine Holder is part of the Planner™ Collection - functional, beautiful and versatile design with timeless appeal. Exploring the interplay of contrasting materials, tactile wool-blend textile wraps around a powder coated steel frame, which extends into an A-shaped base. Two internal compartments keep magazines upright, and a practical top handle makes it easy to move around.

Paul McCobb's innate understanding of perspective paved the way for a career as one of the most important design figures of his time. The self-taught designer's pragmatic yet perfectionist nature was reflected in his work, characterized by slender, graphic lines, a simplicity of form and lightness of design. His trademark scale and perspective imbued his no-nonsense designs, which focused on simplicity and functionality, pared-back to their purest forms.

Welded to a seamless finish, the slender yet sturdy black powder coated steel frame features a detachable holder, cut from wool-blend Raas upholstery textile from Kvadrat, and woven in a plain weave with contrasting yarns. Feet are tipped with non-slip covers for additional stability.

Dimensions: 13" w | 12.7" d | 18.1" h
