    With their narrow width and long length, console tables are a perfect piece to fit in a narrow area such as a hallway, an entry, or even a small living room. Also known as contemporary sofa tables, console tables are multi-purpose as they can function as a convenient extra storage station or a drop spot. With a console table you can display your favorite family photos, a fresh bouquet of your favorite flowers, or use it as placement for an accessory.

     

    The majority of console tables are 26 to 36 inches in height, largely dependent on its age and style. To find the right height, measure the space where you intend to use it. If it’s going behind a sofa, measure the height of the back of the sofa. In most cases the console table should be an inch below or level to the sofa.
