Tom Dixon Shares His Thoughts

One of the most prolific names still contributing to the modern design furniture movement to this day is industrial designer Tom Dixon.  The self taught British designer and creative director of the Tom Dixon brand continues to create new pieces, such as his scent diffusers with aromas that instantly evoke Paris and London.

Dixon was recently interviewed in Fast Company's design section, providing an insight into the man himself, his work, his upcoming collection, and his thoughts on the industry.  Among the many highlights featured throughout the interview, Dixon discusses where he sees the industry going, his thoughts on designers using crowdfunding, and why the old model of a professional showroom is dead.

It was during the 1980s when Tom Dixon began his rise to fame, joining the Italian company Cappellini and designing the iconic 'S' Chair.  By the 1990s Dixon was practically a household name and would go on to achieve even more success rejuvenating the Habitat brand and eventually becoming its Creative Director.  By the early 2000s Dixon would establish his Tom Dixon brand and launch a successful architectural and interior design studio.
