    USA (1928 - 2013) :

     Bachelor of Fine Arts in design and architecture from Cranbrook Academy of Art. In 1954, Diffrient went to work in the studio of  Marco Zanuso in Italy then returned to the states to join Dreyfuss Associates. He eventually established his own Industrial design firm in Ridgefield Connecticut. Over the next 50 years he became one of the earliest experts in modern ergonomics.   Working with Knoll and many other influential furniture companies. His own company Humanscale still produces his Freedom Chair as well as an array of other office chairs products.
