Best in Show at ICFF 2015

    June 09, 2015

The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) is the leading annual showcase for Modern Design Furniture in all of North America. Hosting more than 700 exhibitors from over 30 countries, it spans eleven categories of design ranging from seating and lighting, to kitchen and bath fixtures. It is the ideal venue for designers like me who seek inspiration and knowledge of the latest tends in functional yet beautiful modern design.
That is why I am excited to share the results of the most recent ICFF event, which took place at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan May 16-19. A panel of the industry’s top editors scrutinized thousands of intriguing designs to select the best and most standout examples from each category. The judges included Caroline Williamson of Design Milk, David Dick-Agnew of Azure and Paul Makovsky from Metropolis.

Here are what some of the leading design experts in the country chose. Pay close attention to the design, functionality, and aesthetics of these breakout works.

Best Furniture: Sé Collection III (Nika Zupanc of Mondo Collection)

    Best Wallcovering: Calico Collection

Best Outdoor: loll Designs (Sunnyside Collection by Brad Ascalon and Ghislaine Viñas

    Best Lighting: Bocci (Bocci73)

Best Accessories: Design Memorabilia (George Beylerian)

Best Carpet or Flooring: Lindstrom Collection

Best Textiles: Roros Collection (Kristine Five Melvaer’s “Mikkel” and “Naturpledd”)

Kitchen and Bath: Mat Collection (Ceramica Cielo S.p.A)

Best New Designer: Pepe Heykoop (Tiny Miracles Creations)

I am glad to see more and more cutting-edge and intriguing concepts emerge every year, each helping to introduce a new paradigm to the dynamic design world. Such developments stimulate my own passions for design and help to inform my vast selection of modern design furniture and accessories.
