Design Børge Mogensen, 1968/1970
Solid untreated teak wood
Made in Denmark by Carl Hansen & Son
Danish furniture designer Børge Mogensen designed the Deck Chair Series in the late 1960s as a response to his personal need for functional and comfortable outdoor furniture that occupied the minimum of space.
Practical and flexible and with carefully crafted details, the BM5868 Side Table in untreated, FSC®-certified teak profiles a simple design based on wooden slats. The sturdy, yet lightweight frame makes it easy to move around, and the foldable design requires the minimum of storage space – making it ideal for spontaneous gatherings when the sun comes out.
ørge Mogensen’s creative process produced long-lasting pieces with humans at the center. He became a highly-influential, post-war designer and a leading representative of Danish Modern.
Mogensen’s democratic design included simple and functional wooden furniture for both private and public spaces, with calm aesthetics and strong construction from quality. He believed in visual clarity and minimal decoration or experimentation, as seen in his classic Hunting Table and Deck Chair Set.
Dimensions: 17.1" W x 17.1" D x 17.8" H
