Fredericia’s Søborg chair is part of Børge Mogensen’s collection featuring bent plywood seats. The collection was inspired by an international design competition for low-cost furniture organized by MoMA New York in 1948. The first Søborg chairs with a wooden frame were released in 1950, and in 1952 the collection grew with metal-framed versions. The chairs are excellent examples of Mogensen’s fresh, timeless functionalism that easily suits any environment from residential spaces to restaurants and other public areas. Søborg chairs are manufactured in Denmark.
