Designed by Arne Jacobsen, 1970
Coloured ash veneer, chromed steel
Made by Fritz Hansen
Arne Jacobsen first created the sleek, curvaceous Lily™ chair for Danmarks Nationalbank. Its characteristic wide shoulders and slim waist are striking examples of Jacobsen exploring and challenging the possibilities of veneer to create perfect curves and offer ultimate comfort. The Lily™ Children’s Chair is a perfectly scaled down version of Jacobsen’s iconic design. The Lily Children’s Chair is the perfect introduction to a lifetime of beautiful, long-lasting design. The chair is stackable with other Arne Jacobsen Children's chairs.
Dimensions: 15.7" W x 16.5" D x 24" H || Seat Height: 13.3"
It is said that as a child growing up in Copenhagen, Arne Jacobsen painted over the Victorian wallpaper in his bedroom. But young Arne did not cover his walls with typical childish drawings or paint the ornate wallpaper boyish blue. Instead, he decided to paint his room entirely white. His decision may seem commonplace today, but in the early twentieth century white walls were not yet in fashion. From the very beginning, Arne Jacobsen was ahead of his time.
