To celebrate what would have been the Italian designer Gabriella Crespi's 100th birth year, Gubi is putting the Bohemian 72 collection into production for the first time since its conception.
The collection, made entirely from rattan, captures Crespi's desire to create furniture that links indoor and outdoor living. She was fascinated with stacked, sculptural forms and was described by her daughter as having "a deep sentiment for the cosmic energy of nature", which is evident in her designs.
At the time, Crespi's use of repeated, coiled rattan vines was unusual, setting her apart from other designers. Her unique and luxurious interpretation of lounge furniture has proved timeless, allowing her products to maintain relevance today.
