The Nelson Ball Tripod Lamp is part of the Nelson Bubble Lamp series. Set on a tripod, its spherical shape fills interiors with a warm, diffused light. George Nelson was inspired by a set of silk-covered Swedish hanging lamps when he originally designed the Bubble Lamp series in 1952.

Light and Luminous

Variations of an essentially spherical form, and available as pendants, sconces, tripods, table, and floor lamps, the Bubble Lamp series is a distinguished and timeless George Nelson design. Set on a steel tripod stand, the perfectly rounded shape of the Ball Tripod Lamp illuminates the space around it. It includes a 7.5-foot plug-in cord. In 1952, a set of Swedish hanging lamps were introduced into the American market and George Nelson was impressed enough to want one for his office. A price tag of $125, steep at the time, prevented him from buying one but it also inspired him to design his own series
