Solid walnut, Aluminum, cork
Made by Herman Miller®
Airia Desk combines functionality and beauty. Designers Ayako Takase and Cutter Hutton wanted to design an “intelligent desk that acknowledged technology and the stuff that we accumulate when working, but do it in a subtle, integrated, and intuitive manner.” Airia does just that. Its multifunctional desktop supports your work and provides a secondary space for keeping tools and personal items close—all in an elegant mix of materials—and thoughtful cutouts allow cables to be routed neatly.
Designers Ayako Takase and Cutter Hutton considered aesthetics and designed the Airia Desk in lean forms and subtle curves. They considered materials and combined wood and aluminum to provide a tactile experience. They considered function and added a secondary surface to the desktop for storage or display. But most importantly, they considered the emotional value that we place on objects we use daily, a value that grows over time. Airia, they hope, “will be a desk you'll keep for the rest of your life—and give to your kids."
With a slender desktop and tapered legs, the Airia Desk is not only pleasing to the eye, but also inviting to the hand. Its solid walnut wood frame gives it a classic, warm aesthetic that in turn strikes a contrast against the white casted aluminum desk surface and legs.
The white laminate table top of the Airia Desk acts as a primary work surface. A slightly elevated secondary surface is provided to keep ancillary objects within easy reach. Slender drawers, a cork-lined organizer tray, and cutouts to route cords add to Airia’s functionality.
The desk can be assembled easily with a single tool, which is included. Additional storage and display capability is provided by the coordinating Airia Media Cabinet, sold separately.
Dimensions: 30.5" h x 56" w x 29.75" d
