Two years later, Herman Miller introduced Eames Molded Fiberglass Chairs to the world with a choice of five unique bases. Among them, but since lost to history, was the LAR—Low Armchair Rod Base—which converted the versatile single-shell armchair design into a low-set lounge chair.
