Design Franco Albini, 1958
Square steel tube, glass
Made in Italy by Knoll
After graduating in architecture at Milan Politecnico, Franco Albini worked simultaneously in fields of furniture, product design, architecture, urban planning and interior design. His sentiments as a rationalist architect translated into remarkably transparent furniture designs, which display a knowledgeable use of materials while presenting their internal structure and processes of production.
With glass, chrome-plated steel and painted wood, Franco Albini's 1958 floating pedestal desk demonstrates a commitment to both modernism and traditional artisan ship by utilizing raw materials.
Dimensions:48" W x 26" D x 27.5" H
Construction
Top is 1⁄2" polished plate glass while the frame and legs are made of a square steel tube finished in chrome. The Two-drawer "floating" wood pedestal
Rear open shelf for magazines or small books and is available in either a ebonized oak or white lacquer finish.
Ebonized Oak Albini Desk's ship within 20 business days. Please allow 6-8 weeks for White Lacquer.
