The CH24 Birthday Edition 2022 pays tribute to Wegner’s Wishbone Chair, which has been in continuous production at Carl Hansen & Søn since 1950.

The CH24 Birthday Edition 2022 commemorates the life and legacy of Hans J. Wegner. Crafted in celebration of the designer’s birthday on 2 April, his legendary Wishbone Chair is released in a limited edition. Offered for the occasion in oiled FSC™-certified teak (FSC C135991) and environmentally certified golden olive-tanned leather, the exclusive combination of natural materials ensures no two designs are alike. Both teak and leather patinate over time. Teak takes on a golden reddish-brown tone that beautifully contrasts the aniline leather seat, which is tanned with olive leaves to give unique colour to each piece. During the 1950s and 1960s, Wegner often worked with teak and the latest iteration of the CH24 is a contemporary nod to his rich legacy and the beauty of craftmanship and natural materials. The CH24 Birthday Edition 2022 is fitted with an engraved brass plate featuring Wegner’s signature and date of birth. The chair is available for purchase only on 4 April 2022.
