Design Hans Wegner, 1960
Solid wood, linoleum or laminate, stainless steel
Made in Denmark by Carl Hansen & Son
Hans J. Wegner's CH388 dining table offers a beautiful example of the visionary experimentation that characterized much of the designer’s work in the 1960s.
The CH388 dining table from 1960 is a simplified, dynamic design by Hans J. Wegner. With the CH388 table, Wegner took a bold step by combining a solid wood tabletop with elegant stainless steel legs and a unique steel frame, the industrial lower half visually anchoring the top.
The result is a minimalist and exceptionally engaging composition, that continues to feel very modern more than half a century later.
The round tabletop is available in solid oak, either as a single piece or a split tabletop. The table opens in the middle to accommodate insert leaves. This makes it easy and convenient to adjust to any need or occasion in a variety of spaces.
NOTES:
Laminate includes two laminate leaves. Oak leaves sold separately.
MDF leaves can only be used with solid wooden tables.
Due to the edge profile, laminate leaves can only be used with laminate tables. It is advisable to order the leaves in laminate together with the laminate table to avoid color variations.
Please note that if the table is ordered with more than one solid wooden leaf, only one leaf is produced from the exact same wood as the table top. Minor variations may occur in other leaves.
