Size and dimensions are critical when choosing a sofa. Don't forget to take into consideration the width of your door frame, hallway and staircase. If you’re considering a modern sofa bed, make sure there is sufficient space in between the coffee table and the sleeper so that there is no need to move the furniture should the bed be pulled out. As a general rule of thumb, sofa cushions should be about an inch or two higher than your coffee table.
