The String System is a Scandinavian shelving system designed to make all your storage problems go away. Build the shelf of your dreams by designing your own unique combination, mixing metal shelves, wooden shelves, and colorful elements––the possibilities are endless.
The Folding Table provides a versatile surface that can be stowed away when not in use. When folded down, the table seamlessly melts into the shelf. It's perfect for a dining table in a small kitchen or other narrow spaces where there's no room for a permanent table. In studio apartments, use the folding table as a workspace during the day and a dining table at night.
The String Shelving System is well known for its distinctive wire panels, first introduced by architects Nisse Strinning and Kajsa Strinning back in 1949 as part of a competition to design a shelf that was affordable, easy to ship, and easy to assemble. In the 1950s and 1960s, String was installed in the UN Headquarters offices in New York.
Materials
Wood options: Veneered particleboard. The surface is treated with a clear lacquer with gloss 5. Powder-coated steel with gloss 30. White/White: Lacquered MDF with gloss 35, Powder coated steel with gloss 30.
Dimensions:
30.7"W x 28"H x 11.8"D | Folded Up: 18.5"W x 28"H x 37.8"D
