The String System is a Scandinavian shelving system designed to make all your storage problems go away. Build the shelf of your dreams by designing your own unique combination, mixing metal shelves, wooden shelves, and colorful elements––the possibilities are endless.
The Hanger Rack is an ideal accessory for maximizing your String storage solution. Use it in a kitchen or a dining room for wine glasses - each rail can fit 2-3 glasses depending on the size. A 22.8"W shelf can fit up to three hanger racks while a 30.7"W shelf can fit up to four. Each packaging contains two hanger racks and each hanger rack features two sets of rails.
The String Shelving System is well known for its distinctive wire panels, first introduced by architects Nisse Strinning and Kajsa Strinning back in 1949 as part of a competition to design a shelf that was affordable, easy to ship, and easy to assemble. In the 1950s and 1960s, String was installed in the UN Headquarters offices in New York.
