The String System is a Scandinavian shelving system designed to make all your storage problems go away. Build the shelf of your dreams by designing your own unique combination, mixing metal shelves, wooden shelves, and colorful elements––the possibilities are endless. The String Rods increase the functionality of your configuration, making it possible to add more storage options including coat hangers. The rods fit together with String Metal and Galvanized Shelves. It must be mounted along the width of the shelf. We love using the rod to hang accessories in a bedroom or closet or for odds and ends in a hallway such as a dog leash.
The String Shelving System is well known for its distinctive wire panels, first introduced by architects Nisse Strinning and Kajsa Strinning back in 1949 as part of a competition to design a shelf that was affordable, easy to ship, and easy to assemble. In the 1950s and 1960s, String was installed in the UN Headquarters offices in New York.
Material: Powder-coated steel (fine textured)
Dimensions: 20.9"W x 3.1"H x 0.4"D | 28"W x 3.1"H x 0.4"D
