The String System is a Scandinavian shelving system designed to make all your storage problems go away. Build the shelf of your dreams by designing your own unique combination, mixing metal shelves, wooden shelves, and colorful elements––the possibilities are endless.
Originally designed to provide a designated spot for a record player, the media shelf provides a gap to organize and hide all cords and cables within your String System without letting them get pinched between the wall and shelf. It can easily be used as a compact workspace, a drink table, or simply a place to store and charge electronic devices. Each package comes with a shelf and a ledge and brackets to stabilize it against the wall.
The String Shelving System is well known for its distinctive wire panels, first introduced by architects Nisse Strinning and Kajsa Strinning back in 1949 as part of a competition to design a shelf that was affordable, easy to ship, and easy to assemble. In the 1950s and 1960s, String was installed in the UN Headquarters offices in New York.
Material
Lacquered MDF (fine-textured)
Dimensions:
22.8"W x 0.8"H x 18.5"D
