.04 is different from the customary swivel chairs encountered in official offices. It is ideal for any scenario where users wish to avoid that typical office feel - for example, in the home or in studios.

The flexible polyurethane foam shell yields gently to the user's weight and adapts to body contours to afford enjoyable sitting and provide comfortable flexibility for the back. A new tilting mechanism ensures a smooth transition from the sitting upright to reclining position, while also permitting slight sideways movement. As a result, .04 is exceptionally comfortable even if you want to sit for hours on end. Available with or without armrests.

Formal clarity and simplicity are distinguishing aesthetic features of Maarten Van Severen's designs. His work, handproduced in his workshop in Ghent Belgium, reflects his quest for perfection in form, detail and fabrication. Their appearance is restrained and elegant. Every element is structurally motivated and reduced to its essential form. Maarten works in a variety of different materials: aluminium and ply to bakelite and polyester.
