    Miya Side Table

    Miya Side Table

    ****USUALLY SHIPS IN 12-16 WEEKS****

    Design Elena Salmistraro, 2022
Transparent extra light tempered glass top, polished blown glass base
    Made in Italy by Cappellini

Miya gets its name from the infamous Japanese warriors, samurai. A name chosen for the desire to design a collection of tables that would depict and take inspiration from the armor worn by ancient samurai. The initial idea, in fact, confronted itself with materials, simplifications and balances, turning into something completely different, probably resembling a flower more than the armor of a warrior. Thus, Miya was born, a sculptural coffee table to be composed in a magical game of juxtapositions.

Designer and artist, Elena Salmistraro lives and works in Milan. Graduated from Polytechnic University of Milan, she founded her own studio in 2009, working as a designer and artist/illustrator for leading companies in the creative industry. Salmistraro's creations are the result of a combination of art and design; utmost care for details, painstaking search for the harmony of shapes and poetic style characterize her projects. One of her work’s priorities is the search for the expressive language of objects, which may fascinate people by evoking emotions.

A large transparent glass barrel houses a colored blown glass structure and an interlocking top made of an extra light crystal plate. Available in two sizes and heights, Miya expresses all Elena Salmistraro's creative charge of respecting the use of materials combined with a skillful constructive know-how. A service table but above all a main character of the home.

    Dimensions: 23.5" diameter | 19.75" h
