Design Verner Panton, 1969
Solid pine wood & plywood, CMHR foam, metal inset, nylon glides
Made in Denmark by VerPan ApS.
Verner Panton was a master of the fluid, futuristic style of 1960s design which introduced the Pop aesthetic to furniture and interiors. He designed the cloverleaf sofa in 1969 for the Visiona exhibition as a spectacular eye-catcher and yet a comfortable place to rest and talk - he ended up creating an iconic collection that truly functions as a social piece bringing people closer to each other. Cloverleaf playfully walks the line between sensuous seating sculpture and modular pragmatism.
As one of the most influential and remarkable designers of the era, Verner Panton (1926-1998) has created objects, spaces and art. He was a master of the fluid, futuristic style of 1960s design which introduced the Pop aesthetic to furniture and interiors. His original, space age designs have won numerous awards and been exhibited in museums and private collections around the world.
