Designers: Charles and Ray Eames
These tables, designed in 1958 by Charles and Ray Eames, are a family of beautiful and hard-working outdoor tables with so many available options that you can create the exact surface you need for your porch, Florida room, terrace, or deck. The new finishes we developed make these truly outdoor tables that can take the rain and sunshine and still look beautiful wherever you place them outside.
Create your own mid-century modern classic outdoor table. Choose the Eames Table Contract Base Outdoor with a round top done in any of four stone finishes. The tops are available in several sizes and in dining and coffee table heights—which means you can also create the occasional tables everyone needs to go with outdoor seating, so there’s always a place to put your big summer novel, Sudoku puzzle book, bird-watching binoculars, and a cold drink. These table bases are the original Eames cross-shaped table base design, simple and classic.
The four-legged cast aluminum base is available in two powder-coat outdoor finishes. Tops and bases are connected with a bolt that runs the length of the column to ensure strength and durability through years of use.
To make the tables appropriate for outdoor use, we chose four durable stone tops. Each comes from a North American quarry with a strong connection to historic American design. Georgia White Marble was used by Daniel Chester French for his sculpture of Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial.
Georgia Grey Marble comes from the quarry that produced the marble used in the 2004 renovation of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Quebec Graphite Granite, a subtly patterned, deep-hued stone, was used to rich effect in Chicago's John Hancock Center. Wisconsin Black Marble, a unique dark stone speckled with lustrous green and grey veins, is cut to order and finished with a bullnose edge, as are all our stone offerings.
