Product description
The Foscarini Gregg Table Lamp transforms mouth-blown glass into a soft, organic source of ambient light. Designed by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba in 2007, Gregg is defined by an intentionally irregular silhouette inspired by smooth stones shaped over time by water. Its asymmetry gives the lamp a different appearance depending on the viewing angle, creating a design that feels natural, sculptural, and quietly expressive.
Rather than relying on conventional geometric symmetry, Gregg uses subtle imbalance to create character. The rounded white diffuser appears almost weightless when illuminated, while its softly changing profile gives the lamp visual interest even when switched off. This makes Gregg equally effective as functional lighting and as a decorative object within the room.
The diffuser is crafted from mouth-blown, acid-etched glass, giving the surface its smooth satin appearance while helping distribute light evenly throughout the surrounding space. A coated metal support base provides stability without distracting from the purity of the glass form. Foscarini’s manufacturing process emphasizes the handcrafted character of the diffuser, allowing the material and organic shape to remain the focus of the design.
Gregg produces a soft, warm, diffused glow rather than concentrated task lighting. It works especially well on side tables, consoles, nightstands, credenzas, shelving, and other surfaces where comfortable ambient illumination is more important than directional light.
The collection is available in four table-lamp sizes, allowing the same design language to work across very different spaces. The compact Piccola version can serve as an accent or bedside light, while Midi and Media provide greater visual presence for side tables and consoles. The Grande becomes a substantial illuminated object that can anchor a larger surface or interior composition.
Because the diffuser surrounds the light source, Gregg creates an even illuminated volume with minimal visual clutter. Its simple white finish also makes it highly adaptable, pairing naturally with modern, contemporary, minimalist, and more eclectic interiors.
Made in Italy by Foscarini, the Gregg Table Lamp represents the brand’s approach to decorative lighting: combining material experimentation, craftsmanship, and expressive design to create light fixtures that influence the atmosphere of a room even when they are not illuminated.
