Pala is a fully upholstered armchair on a pedestal designed by Italian designer Luca Nichetto. It is Nichetto’s first design for Artifort. The design follows the shape of a human body and combines Artifort’s heritage with a contemporary approach.
Luca Nichetto (1976, Venice) is an industrial designer who began his professional career as a glass maker and later became a product designer. In 2006, he founded his eponymous practice in Venice. In 2011 he moved to Sweden to open a second studio. Over the course of his career, Nichetto has served as art-director for international design brands Italesse and ZaoZuo. Nichetto’s work has been exhibited worldwide and has been the subject of retrospectives in cities such as Venice, London, Paris and Stockholm. He has been awarded numerous international design awards including the Grand Design Award (2008) and Designer of the Year award (2009) in the Young Designer Talent category of the Elle Decoration International Design Awards.
