The PH 2/1 Table Lamp is one of the most compact expressions of Poul Henningsen’s celebrated three-shade lighting system. Developed to control glare and shape light through reflection rather than direct exposure to the bulb, the lamp creates a soft pool of downward illumination together with a gentle ambient glow. Its modest scale makes it especially useful on side tables, shelves, nightstands, consoles and windowsills.
The shade geometry is based on a logarithmic spiral, with the light source positioned at the focal point so each shade helps direct and distribute the light. Standard versions use mouth-blown opal glass with a sandblasted inner surface, while the Pale Rose configuration introduces colored mouth-blown glass and brushed brass for a warmer, more decorative expression.
