Grand Repos and Repos stand in the tradition of the classic lounge chair, but have developed this concept further to reach a new level. With their generous padding, inviting armrests, high back and continuously adjustable sitting positions, these chairs fulfill almost all demands with respect to comfortable, relaxing seating. Thanks to their bio-mechanical range of motion, this collection adapts to all seating positions – from a reading to a reclining position. The angle of the seat and backrest change synchronously and the invisible mechanism integrated into the chair can be locked in any position.
The Italian designer and architect Antonio Citterio knows how to combine timeless elegance with unsurpassed comfort. He has worked with Vitra for around 25 years creating a variety of pioneering designs. After many years of experience in creating dynamic and healthy seating, he has now applied his expertise to the private living area, with the Repos collection as his premiere pieces.
The Repos and Grand Repos are available in a variety of leathers and fabrics, with decorative seams that lend the chair a distinctly contemporary, almost technical flair. The lounge also includes a matching neck cushion filled with feathers. The four-star base made of die-cast aluminum comes in polished and colored lacquer versions. Its taller brother, the Grand Repos, boasts a 2.25" higher backrest and an expressive wing chair element to enhance this aura even further.
