Marcel Breuer was an apprentice at the Bauhaus in 1925 when he conceived the first tubular steel chair. Named for his contemporary, Wassily Kandinsky, the tubular frame was inspired by a bicycle. The frame is seamless tubular steel with a polished chrome finish.
The Wassily Chair is available in 3 different leather options:
Belting Leather - is a highly durable "stacked" leather that's available in 15 different colors.
Cowhide Leather - is a thick cowhide sling made from a quality Spinneybeck leather.
Haired Hide - is a natural "haired" hide that's available in 8 colors. Haired Hides are a natural material and will feature unique markings per chair.
Wassily Chairs in Black or Red belting leather are available in 20 business days. All other options please allow 6-8 weeks.
