Founded by Hans and Florence Knoll, the design firm has been producing iconic furniture, accessories, textiles, and storage since 1938. A number of people that have cemented their place in modern furniture history have created pieces for Knoll including Hans Wegner, Isamu Noguchi, and Jay Osgerby.
The Barcelona Chair and Barcelona Ottoman designed by Mies van der Rohe are arguably the most famous pieces by Knoll. The chair was designed in 1929 and has since gone down in history as an iconic and timeless piece epitomizing modern architecture. The Bertoia Chair by Harry Bertoia is another masterpiece designed to fit surprisingly well in virtually any room with any décor. It’s available in several different styles, including bar stools.
