Design Front Designs, 2010
Transparent or batch colored PMMA
Made in Italy by Kartell
A sudden puff of wind riffles the pages of a newspaper. The creative inspiration takes wing from here for the new magazine rack designed by Front, the Swedish team for Kartell. The Front Page design captures the riffling pages and gives life to an object of lightness and elegance with its sinuous line fanning into a semicircle of curving shelves.
Front Page is a very special interior design item, a small piece transformed into something irresistible. Its colors take their inspiration from the most iconic magazines and newspapers such as Time magazine, Nation geographic, the Financial Times and La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Front started in 2003 by a design group of four. All members are involved in the design process from initial discussions and ideas to final product. Their works are based on common discussions, exploring and investigations about different topics. And the final products often communicate a story to the observer about the design process, conventions within the product field or the material it is made of.
Dimensions: 13.8" d | 19.7" w | 13.4" h
