The GAN Giro Rug turns mathematical geometry into a highly dimensional textile design, combining precise pattern, sculptural texture, and traditional handcraft. Designed by MUT Design Studio, Giro uses a sequence of subtly changing curves to create the optical illusion of a continuous form rolling and twisting back onto itself. The result has a strong Op Art quality that gives the rug movement from virtually every angle.
Giro is handmade using the hand-tufting technique, a process that gives the designers the freedom to create its unusually precise curves and varying levels of relief. Made from 100% wool with a cotton backing, the rug has a substantial, tactile surface while the different pile heights amplify the sense of depth and three-dimensionality within the graphic pattern.
Rather than functioning simply as a background element, Giro has enough visual presence to become a defining part of an interior.
