Stone top, four-star metal base
Made by Herman Miller®
To make the tables appropriate for outdoor use, we chose two powder-coat finishes for the bases and four durable stone finishes for the tops. Each type of stone comes from a North American quarry with a strong connection to historic American design.
Georgia White Marble is the same marble used for Lincoln’s sculpture at the Lincoln Memorial. Georgia Grey Marble is the same used in the 2004 renovation of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Wisconsin Black Marble is a dark stone speckled with lustrous green and grey veins. Quebec Graphite Granite is the same granite used on Chicago's John Hancock Center.
Once extracted, two-centimeter-thick slabs of stone are cut to order, and the tops have a knife edge derived from Nelson's original design.
These tables are made of 21% recycled materials and are 99% recyclable at the end of their long useful lives. Steel and aluminum components are 100% recyclable.
