Designed in 1994 by Donald "Don" T. Chadwick and the late William Eugene "Bill" Stumpf for Herman Miller, the Aeron chair has solidified its place in history as iconic piece of modern design furniture and it even managed to earn the distinction of “America’s best-selling chair” in 2010. The chair is among the many notable works featured in New York’s Museum of Modern Art. Chadwick and Stumpf created an innovative piece of technology that had never been before at the time, completely redefining how people sat while rewriting the rules of chair design.

Herman Miller recently improved upon the Aeron chair, remastering it for today’s workforce in all essential areas including ergonomics, functionality, and even making it more environmentally friendly. Using input from Chadwick himself, the new Aeron chair uses stronger materials, new finish options, and it allows for better adjustment capabilities, focusing on better lumbar support. The already comfortable chair is now even more comfortable, without losing any of its original charm or the characteristics that made it such a groundbreaking piece when it was originally unveiled.
